1. Keep your travel plans offline
If you’re planning to travel during the holiday season, be sure to keep your travel plans off your social media networks. Never post where you’re going, when you’re leaving, or when you’ll be back.
This is prime information for a burglar to know when your house will be empty. Even if you have the highest level of security on your social accounts, posting this kind of information is never recommended.
2.Keep your alarm system in check
If you have an alarm system installed in your household, ensure that it is in full working order. Testing your system for faults can save you the risk of ineffective robbery prevention

3. Load your vehicle in the back yard or in your garage, behind closed doors
A fully packed holiday car left in front of the house is a green light for those opportunistic criminals. They will know that you will be leaving within a few hours after the vehicle is packed
4. New Presents / Electronic Equipment
Do not throw the empty boxes of your newly bought TV or expensive electronic equipment on the side curb. Criminals see this as an open invitation. Through doing this, criminals also know what you have on the inside of your house and will use this as an opportunity to try and take what is yours

Hostage victim rescued from hijackers

GAC Security and various other Security and Tracking Companies received a message on a security platform, asking if there was anybody in the Akasia / Orchards area to search for a victim that was hijacked and being kept hostage
Within minutes GAC and other units were dispatched and arrived at the specified address. Upon arrival, the suspects fled the scene on foot
The victim was rescued from the house where he was being held hostage. He was unharmed but emotional and traumatized. His vehicle and belongings were all recovered and returned to him
The victim were reunited with his family later that day

Operation clean-up “Hlanza” GAC assisting the community

SAPS Pta North and Various other surrounding Police stations joined hands with the local CPF’s patrollers and security companies to “clean-up” the Magalies mountain range from forest dwellers
GAC assisted the community and SAPS with this task. We entered the mountain range from the “poort’s” side heading in a westerly direction
Other groups entered the mountain range from behind the Joos Bekker caravan park and from Merwede Street in Mountain View
Various items, structures, and tools were found in the mountain range where we patrolled. The patrollers also found spots where copper cables were being stripped and burned. Over-all the operation was a massive success and we would also like to thank every single person who took their time to help by joined in this task. It would not have been such an effective operation without each and every person dedicating themselves to this cause

Robbers caught in the act in Soshanguve
On 18.08.2020 a joint operation between SAPS Organised Crime Unit and GAC Risk Solutions took place. We received information about a planned robbery of a well-known delivery company. The delivery vehicle was on-route delivering parcels in the Soshanguve area.
We noticed the delivery vehicle being followed by the charcoal-colored vehicle that matched the exact description of the suspect’s vehicle that was being used to commit numerous robberies.
At first, we kept our distance while following the suspects. The delivery vehicle made its way through a small suburb, not noticing the suspects were following them.
GOOD MEN WILL KNOW YOU, EVIL MEN WILL FEAR YOU
When the delivery vehicle pulled into a driveway of a house in Soshanguve, the charcoal-colored vehicle pulled in behind them in an attempt to rob them. We then acted swiftly and apprehend all 4 suspects.
The suspects were all taken to Soshanguve Police station for processing. Two of the four suspects were positively identified for committing a previous crime with that exact same vehicle.

Van die oog af lyk dit net soos ‘n paar takkies wat op die grond lê, maar dié uitgepakte takkies op die grond staan bekend as Kriptografie
Kriptografie (vanuit Grieks kryptòs, “Weggesteek”, en gràphein, “om te skryf”) is tradisioneel. Dit is die studie van tegnieke om inligting vanaf die normale leesbare formaat na ‘n onbekende formaat om te skakel wat vir ongewenste partye wat mag toegang verkry tot die kommunikasiekanaal, onverstaanbaar te maak. Verder word gepoog om dit so moeilik as moontlik te maak om te ontsyfer sonder die geheime kennis (sleutel) wat as invoer tot die ontsyferingsalgoritme dien. In die verlede is kriptografie ingespan om geheimhouding tydens strategies belangrike kommunikasie te verseker (tipies kommunikasie van spioene, militêre leiers, en diplomate).
In die beeld hierbo was dié verdagte man vasgetrek deur GAC Sekuriteit op ‘n privaat perseel in die noorde van Pretoria. Na ondersoek het ons op verskeie merker items afgekom wat hierdie verdagte by hom gedra het. Hy het opslag gemaak of hy mal is en gladnie verstaan wat gebeur nie. Hy het selfs gemaak of hy gladnie weet wat die items in sy besit was nie. Maar met verdere ondersoek wat dit duidelik dat die verdagte presies verstaan het en geweet het waarvoor die items was.

Die bogenoemde fotos is van die items wat in die merker plaaser se broeksakke gevind was. Soos te sien op die fotos was daar van baba skoene tot dooie slange en paddas, papiere met nommers, verkeie kleure ens gevind. Al hierdie items lyk op die oog af net soos gewonde rommel, maar dit is presies hoekom hierdie Kriptografie dien as ‘n strategiese kommunikasie middel tussen kriminele en kwaad doeners.
